IDB Lab, in partnership with Latimpacto, the Green Climate Fund, the Bayer Foundation, and Coca-Cola, has launched a new call for proposals for the Catalytic Green Fund, an initiative designed to strengthen the decarbonization ecosystem in the region. Aiming to reduce up to 6.2 million tons of CO₂ over the next five years, this call will mobilize US$5 million to support 350 entrepreneurs developing innovative solutions focused on creating net-zero value chains.
This call is aimed at Entrepreneur Support Organizations (ESOs) such as accelerators, universities, chambers of commerce, impact investment funds, foundations, and other actors in the innovation ecosystem. Its goal is to strengthen and finance projects and technologies that contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting the circular economy, and fostering a more sustainable future in Latin America and the Caribbean. Specifically, it seeks to support initiatives that generate net-zero value chains in the Amazon Basin (Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, and Suriname) and other areas of the region. Selected entities will receive support to implement programs that promote sustainable business models, generating social and economic benefits for local communities.
This initiative is part of the Amazonia Forever, a program by the IDB, with a special focus on inclusive and women-led solutions, aligned with the Paris Agreement and focused on nature-based technologies and solutions.
